PODOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

The essential complement to fall prevention

The podiatrist 's objective is to check the good health of the foot, the static and the quality of the footwear.

Pedicure consists of a meticulous examination to detect skin and nail lesions (horn, callus, ingrown toenail partridge eye, etc.) which generate pain, often resulting in pain relief which increases the risk of falling.

Podiatry attempts to check for static disorders (hollow foot, flat foot, varus, valgus and toe claw) that promote the fall. The analysis includes a podoscopic examination as well as a gait study. Following this static and dynamic assessment, a pair of plantar orthoses may be proposed to compensate for the aforementioned disorders.

Finally, the podiatrist will endeavor to study the footwear which must be adapted to the walking of an elderly person.
