The initial assessment

The assessment is carried out extemporaneously after an initial diagnostic evaluation (short consultation) or after request from a staff member or a external referral practitioner  who has drawn up a liaison form. There are multiple examinations to fully explore the function of the vestibular system and the balance strategy.

The choice of the appropriate exam depends on the location and the frequency of the sensor suspected to be deficient (Oculo-motricity, Nystagmoscopy, kinetic, positional, pressure & caloric tests, low and high velocity, evoked potentials, posturography, subjective vertical, dynamic visual acuity ....)

All of these examinations are not systematically useful and rarely carried out on the same day due to the risk of induced fatigue and distorting the results. Day hospital care with rest periods can be discussed in order to optimize the assessments.

Additional assessments are provided based on the results of the first tests, their relevance and the degree of diagnostic or therapeutic urgency.

Synthesis

Doctors and physiotherapists, after an initial synthesis, are available to provide a quick solution to the patient.

In all cases, the patient get back the conclusions of his results and a therapeutic proposal, a dematerialized copy of which is sent to affiliates via secure messaging.
