ARNAUD DEVÈZE, MD, PhD
Ear and Skull Base Surgery

Arnaud Devèze is currently Ear and Skull Base Surgeon at Clairval Private Hospital in Marseille, and Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Applied Biomechanics, Aix Marseille University.

He carried out the most part of his carrier with his mentor Professor Jacques Magnan, in the department of Otology and Skull Base at Hospital Nord in Marseille. Being specialized in the treatment of deafness and vertigo and skull base surgery, Arnaud Devèze has got a strong experience in auditory implantations to restore hearing. He is a renown surgeon specialized in the endoscopic surgery of cerebellopontine angle disease (facial palsy, acoustic schwannoma, neurovascular conflict...) working in collaboration with his colleagues’ neurosurgeons.

Arnaud Devèze has achieved his PhD at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD, Denver, CO, USA), working on the biomechanical aspects of the vibration of middle ear and bone conduction implants. Back in France, he has organized the creation of a Laser Doppler Vibrometry Unit in the Laboratory of Applied Biomechanism that permits to conduct experimental research in the domain of acoustic implants and sound propagation. He has conducted or participated to several clinical studies regarding vestibular deficit and more specifically the physiological pattern of vestibular compensation, through a long-lasting collaboration with the lab headed by Prof. Michel Lacour.

He is a training specialist and surgical support for acoustic and cochlear implants, and works currently on the finalization of a realistic synthetic temporal bone and middle ear ossicular chain for training purposes.

FABIEN PAOLINO, MD
Functional Exploration - Tinnitus Consultations
Very passionate about the equilibrium system, he follows, from his second cycle of medical study, training as an exploration technician (AFTE ENT) and a neurosensory exploration IUD in otology. Specialist in functional explorations (VNG, PEA, Posturography, complex Audiometry) from 1995, he joined the center of balance in Clairval in 2002.
He was also for 12 years, exploration attaché for the ENT department at Hôpital Nord in Marseille, succeeding his illustrious elder and mentor, Erik ULMER.
Privileged interlocutor of the Synapsis company, Marseilles flagship of international renown, he participates in the development of sophisticated equipment in the field of vertigo exploration and in the training of new exploration technicians with the training organization EXALAB.
In 2006/2007, he shared the paternity of IMERTA and harmonized an entire administrative and nursing team whose welcome and reassuring consideration were honored.

ANNE QUEMAR, MD
Functional explorations. Tinnitus consultations.
Anne Quemar has been practicing as a liberal ENT since 1995, after her specialization at the Nantes University Hospital, mainly focused on vestibular audio explorations. She also followed university training in thermal medicine and hyperbaric medicine.
She decided to stop the surgery in 2015, to join the audio-vestibular exploration center of the Clairval private hospital, and to devote herself mainly to the management of tinnitus within the multidisciplinary team of IMERTA. .

ELOI HERITSILAVO RAMILISON, MD, MSc
ENT. Medical Assistant. Functional explorations.
Eloi Ramilison is our first fellow, thanks to the funding of a scholarship from the Ramsay Santé group. He joined our team in September 2017. He received initial training at the University of Antananarivo, Madagascar. Since his arrival, he has brilliantly carried out a Research Master in Health Simulation and a DU in Vestibular Functional Explorations (Lyon 1). He supports the Institute's team in carrying out functional explorations and monitoring patients included in research protocols.
